General Terms and Conditions

 

Making a Purchase

These Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed with Curtains Direct. Please read them carefully, as they set out important information about your order, payment, installation, and cancellations. If you have any questions or require clarification, please contact us by telephone on 087 633 1166 or your sales advisor.

Your Order

At the time of ordering, a deposit of 50% of the total balance is required. Once your deposit has been received, we will send you an order confirmation along with a copy of these Terms and Conditions. The remaining 50% must be paid no later than 48 hours before the scheduled installation date. If you would like to pay by cheque or cash, this may be provided to the fitter upon arrival.

Installation

All delivery and installation dates provided are estimates only and may be subject to change. Products are subject to availability, and delays outside of our control may occur. We endeavour to complete all orders within an eight-week timeframe from receipt of the deposit. Installation is scheduled by our Fitting Department; you will be provided with an approximate arrival time (we are unable to guarantee exact times due to traffic and other delays). If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible. Where an installation team attends and is unable to proceed due to site conditions (for example, painting in progress or flooring being installed), an additional charge may apply.

Your Right to Cancel

Once production has commenced, bespoke orders cannot be cancelled or returned due to a change of mind. Made-to-measure and personalised goods are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Deposits are non-refundable; however, they may be transferred.

Fabric Characteristics and Natural Variations

Fabrics are soft, flexible materials rather than rigid or solid objects. As a result, some natural movement, settling, and variation in appearance may occur once installed.

Fabrics are produced in batches and minor variations in colour, shade, or texture may occur between batches. Natural characteristics such as visible weave, slubs, knots, and slight irregularities are inherent to many fabrics and should not be considered faults.

The appearance and performance of fabric may change over time due to light, heat, humidity, and regular use. Fabrics may also require occasional dressing or adjustment. Samples and images are provided as a guide only and may not exactly replicate the final installed result.

Blackout curtains and blinds reduce light but cannot guarantee complete darkness. Some light seepage around edges or fittings is normal due to window shape, installation method, and fabric movement, and is not considered a fault

Guarantees

Curtains Direct provides a 12-month guarantee covering faulty materials or workmanship. This guarantee does not cover natural wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, or the removal/taking down of goods.
